Master’s License update

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

The bureaucracy moves slow, but they do provide information on demand. I have called the Maritime Center in West Virginia weekly since submitting my Masters License application in April. Just last Thursday, my application landed at the final stop: the evaluator. It is up to this final person. Fortunately, she called me to answer some questions regarding my sea-time, which I can only answer with MORE FORMS! So, I am assured I will receive a 50-ton Masters License pending my submission of the extra forms.

I guess if it were easy, it probably would not be worthwhile.

Go For the Gold Regatta

Friday, July 18th, 2008

We have begun logging and capturing footage of the annual regatta – I hope to have a short published by the end of July, so watch for that…

We are preparing for an epic adventure this fall: rafting the length of the Grand Canyon. I attended college in Flagstaff, Arizona, which enabled me to spend quite a bit of time in the canyon, but this will be the first time rafting the length. Janis and I are very excited to do this trip, and you can bet we will be filming and shooting photos. I would expect to see something around Christmas.

The BVI film will somehow be shoe-horned in between those two projects; we have some really cool scuba footage, and the islands are all postcard perfect.

All in all, a busy 2008 for Wing and Wing! Thanks for checking in – leave us a comment to let us know how we’re looking!
